Andres Martell is an US American futurist and sommelier living in the UK.

Currently working with the UK’s accelerator for regenerative cities, net zero transport and connected digital twins, he leads a team of Speculative Designers who introduce plausible futures and technologies to public and private stakeholders.

Prior to expating in 2020, Andres completed two masters programmes at UC Berkeley - California’s #1 public university - on the Post 911 GI Bill where his studies centred on sustainable development and venture finance.

While studying at UC Berkeley College of Environmental Design, he consulted on multiple real estate development projects including an 88-acre master plan in Mumbai, India.

At UC Berkeley Haas School of Business he worked with Ford Motor Company and IDEO Design Consultancy on the topic of the future of mobility in Palo Alto, California.

He went on as an exchange student at ESADE Business and Law School in Barcelona, Spain, as well as Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in Hong Kong, China.

Mobility must go beyond transportation - to include socioeconomic and ideological agility - if it is to have true impact on society.

His career began with 5-years on active duty in the US Marine Corps, serving as an F/A-18 Avionics Technician, specializing in FLIR systems (thermal imaging and laser guidance) and completed multiple tours overseas.

Between deployments, his father sent cases of wine as care packages, catalysing a deep passion for wine - and sharing it with others.

Together, they founded a boutique agency in San Francisco providing tours, travel, and events in wine destinations, primarily Napa Valley - operating it together for over a decade.

In 2020, Andres and his wife Lara were married and managed a working honeymoon - harvest in Champagne, France.

Today, Andres lives with his wife in Stroud - home of the world’s greenest football club, The Forrest Green Rovers - where he trains and competes in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
